A magnet can match its drawing and still disappoint in service if a critical requirement was never communicated: the magnetization direction may be wrong, a coating may be unsuitable for the environment, or an inspection report may be missing at delivery. Quality therefore starts with the way an order is specified, reviewed and followed through.
MagnetsTek is a brand of Suzhou Keyue Advanced Materials Technology Co., Ltd. We are sharing the company’s ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certificate so customers can see the legal entity, the certified scope and the document itself. This article explains what the certificate says and how to turn a custom magnet inquiry into clear, checkable requirements.
Why ISO 9001 matters in materials sourcing
ISO 9001 is a standard for a quality management system. Its underlying principles include customer focus, managing work as connected processes and continual improvement. For a materials buyer, the practical value is a framework for reviewing requirements, coordinating work, keeping appropriate records and acting on feedback. The International Organization for Standardization explains the ISO 9000 family and its quality management principles.
A management system certificate should be read together with its holder and scope. It does not replace a product drawing, an agreed inspection plan or evidence that a particular shipment meets its specification.

Understanding the certified scope
The certificate covers sales, including import and export, of metal materials, non-ferrous metal alloys, electronic specialty materials (including sputtering targets and electronic ceramic materials), surface functional materials (including evaporation and thin-film deposition materials), magnetic materials, advanced ceramic materials, and high-purity elements and compounds.
Magnetic materials are part of the stated scope. The scope describes the certified activity of the named legal entity; it does not identify an individual magnet grade, certify a manufacturing facility or guarantee the performance of a particular product. Those questions are addressed through the specification, agreed tests and order documentation for each project.
Five checkpoints for a clearer custom magnet order
1. Define the application and operating conditions
Tell us where the magnet will be used and which conditions matter: operating temperature, corrosion exposure, available installation space, nearby components and the magnetic function you need. These details help determine which questions must be resolved before a quote is finalized.
2. Send a controlled drawing and material requirement
Include the drawing revision, units, dimensions, tolerances, material type and grade. Identify critical dimensions separately. For an assembly, show the position of the magnet relative to mating parts. If an alternate material or grade is acceptable, state the limits for an approved substitute.
3. Specify magnetization and surface finish
Mark the magnetization direction on the drawing and describe any required pole pattern. State whether a coating, plating or other finish is required, including any thickness or appearance criteria that matter to your application. A change in orientation or finish can affect fit and function even when the base material is unchanged.
4. Agree on inspection and records before ordering
Tell us which characteristics need verification and which documents must accompany the shipment. Depending on the project, these may include dimensional results, magnetic measurements, coating checks or an agreed inspection report. Availability and test methods should be confirmed during quotation rather than assumed after delivery.
5. Confirm acceptance and handle changes clearly
Before production or sourcing proceeds, align on the approved drawing, quantity, delivery requirements and acceptance criteria. If a requirement changes, identify the new revision and discuss its effect on lead time, price and inspection. Clear change communication helps both parties compare the delivered parts with the same agreed specification.
What to include in your RFQ
A complete request helps us give a more useful response. Please include:
- A drawing or specification with its revision number and units
- Magnet material, grade or required performance range
- Dimensions, tolerances and any critical features
- Magnetization direction or pole pattern
- Coating, plating or environmental requirements
- Operating temperature and application conditions
- Order quantity, target delivery date and destination
- Required inspection points, reports or other documents
If some values are still open, flag them as questions. We can review the available information and discuss what needs to be fixed before a firm quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Does this certificate cover magnet manufacturing?
The certified scope printed on this certificate is sales, including import and export, of specified materials. It should not be presented as a manufacturing-site certificate.
Does ISO 9001 certification mean every magnet is individually certified?
No. The certificate concerns the named company’s quality management system within its stated scope. Product conformity must be assessed against the requirements agreed for a specific order.
Can I request inspection records for my order?
Yes. Tell us which measurements or reports you require with your RFQ. We can review the applicable test methods and confirm which records are available before the order is placed.
